The President Wins the President’s Cup!

After Michael Wilde sadly had to pull out of the competition on Saturday 1 July, due to injury, Martyn Taplin (the Stansted Tennis Club president) stepped in. With his partner in the draw, Caroline Mott, they went on to win the annual Stansted Tennis Club tournament, beating Diane Brown and Adrian Olver 6-3, in a nail-biting final.

In the consolation draw, the outcome of the final hung in the balance ‘til the last point. Carol Cook and Sam Arnold took it right down to the wire, beating Sandra Ayres and Trevor Lloyd 4-3.
